Copper has now fallen by one-third from its record high of earlier this year. In the event of a US recession – which I believe to be more likely than not – history suggests copper could come off even more. In this edition of the Bigger Picture, I explore past copper slumps, as well as the technical set-up today. I also set out the levels and times at which I am seeking to short copper on the way down.
