Chariot almost ready to roll

Chariot Oil & Gas expects to be 'drill ready' by December
October 25, 2011

Chariot Oil & Gas had planned to start its campaign this year with a first well on the Tapir prospect, offshore Namibia. And although the company says it should be ready to drill by December the market for deepwater rigs has "tightened markedly", and it doesn't want to pay a high premium to secure a drilling unit. This could delay the Tapir well, which is planned to be the first of four to five exploration wells to be drilled by the end of 2013.

The timing of drilling the largest prospect, Nimrod, will be determined by partner Petrobras, although Chariot is confident drilling will occur next year. Meanwhile, discussions continue with potential partners in other licence areas.
