Today's market overview

• Under pressure FTSE 100 mining company, Eurasian Natural Resources (ENRC) says it has not made any decision on a possible spin off of its operations outside Kazakhstan.

• Andrew Moss, the Chief Executive Officer of insurance giant Aviva , has taken the hint from disgruntled shareholders, and has quit the post with immediate effect.

Tullow Oil has discovered further oil in the first exploration well at one of its Kenyan projects, increasing its potential 'significantly', the group said on Tuesday.

• Online gambling firm bwin.party has struck an agreement with casino operators in California as it gets ready for the 'inevitable' legalisation of Internet betting in the state.

• Medical devices maker Smith & Nephew said that its Bioventus joint venture with Essex Woodlands is now up and running.

HSBC , Europe's biggest bank, said profits fell in the first quarter after it was hit by a revaluation of its debt.

• Summer bookings are ahead of last year in all of TUI Travel 's key markets, except for France, but the package tour operator remains cautious about the outcome for the full year (IC COMMENT).

• The specialist insurer, Hiscox , claims it has kept some powder dry during the first three months of 2012, after reporting lower income from premiums for the quarter.

• Data centre firm Telecity Group has confirmed its full year outlook after a good first quarter.

Braemar Shipping Services said it had been a challenging year, with significant surplus of tonnage in many sectors, as it reported an increase in revenue and maintained its dividend.

Exillon Energy saw average production slip in April but the company has revealed that its financial performance has been better than expected.

• Industrial materials maker Morgan Crucible stuck to its full year expectations despite a slower start to the year than it had forecast.

HICL Infrastructure , the infrastructure investment firm, is now the majority stakeholder in the Colchester Garrison private finance initiative project after buying up a stake from design and engineering consultancy WS Atkins.

International Public Partnerships , the infrastructure investment company, said it was going to tap up the markets again, this time looking for 180 million pounds.

Porta Communications , the marketing and public relations firm that is being sued by rival Media Square, saw losses triple in 2011.

Xcite Energy , a North Sea focused oil company, has signed a time charter contract with Teekay Navion Offshore Loading for a shuttle tanker vessel.

• Defence technology group Cobham says that the acceptance conditions set out in the terms of its revised offer for Danish satellite communications outfit Thrane and Thrane have now been satisfied.

Galliford Try , the FTSE 250 construction group, alongside its joint venture partner Imtech Process, has been awarded a contract to build a new water treatment works in Lincolnshire.

Eden Research, an agrochemical and encapsulation development company, is all set to start trading on AIM on May 11th.
