Plexus ties up more deals with majors

A positive trading update and new partnerships with oil majors suggest Plexus is close to commercial success in the subsea wellhead equipment market
October 9, 2012

Wellhead equipment specialist Plexus (POS) is one of the few beneficiaries of 2010's BP-Makondo disaster in the Gulf of Mexico. In response to anxious regulators requiring additional safety measures for high-pressure offshore drilling, Plexus is currently developing a new and safer subsea wellhead design. Industry leaders such as Shell, Tullow and Eni have signed up as consulting partners on the project, with the intention of becoming end users and commercial partners once it is successfully built.

What's more, sales of Plexus' patented POS-GRIP equipment, already on the market, have expanded rapidly in the past six months - prompting the company to issue a positive trading statement ahead of its annual results on 16 October.
