Quixant (QXT), which makes software and hardware for casino gaming machines, was possibly gambling with investor's goodwill when its directors owned over 60 per cent of the company. But in a move designed to boost the shareholder base and improve liquidity they finally slashed their holdings last week. Three directors sold nearly 17.9m shares - or about 28 per cent of Quixant’s issued share capital - at 140p a share.
Chief executive Nick Jarmany sold over 8m shares to leave himself with a 26 per cent stake, netting £11.3m in the process. He was joined by sales chief Gary Mullins and manufacturing director Chen Tai Lin, who sold over 5m shares to reduce their holdings to about 6 per cent and 7 per cent, respectively. Indeed, in order to be able to sell these shares the three directors were released from lock-in constraints. Shares held by the directors subsequent to the move, however, still remain subject to lock-in obligations.
