Nighthawk unloved despite profit spike

Nighthawk Energy's share price has failed to respond to a strong out-turn at the half-year mark.
October 2, 2014

Shares in Nighthawk Energy (HAWK) failed to spark despite an impressive set of first-half figures. Indeed, revenues more than tripled to $25.4m (£15.7m), while normalised operating profit came in at $14.1m - that's well in advance of the figure for 2013 as a whole. The company's cash position is likely to improve, given that operating cash flows rose to $14.4m, against $4.7m in 2013.

There was also good news on the production front, with total output hitting 342,382 barrels - a fourfold increase over the same period last year. The step-up in volumes is likely to gather pace as several new wells have been brought online since August's production update.
