GP landlord Assura (AGR) has been busy this year buying up more medical centres, and recently raised £180m through a firm placing and open offer to fund further expansion. Indeed, management has earmarked £95m of the proceeds to finance the near-term pipeline of acquisitions and developments, including a portfolio of 11 purpose-built medical centres for around £62m. Commercial terms have also been agreed on a further 13 individual asset acquisitions for around £18m, while seven existing developments will use up another £15m.

Group borrowings are also expected to be reduced by about £55m, taking the overall loan-to-value ratio down from 65 per cent to 52 per cent. The second quarterly dividend remains at 0.45p a share, and all the new shares will qualify. And from January the quarterly dividend is expected to be increased by 11 per cent to 0.5p a share. Directors in the company put their hands in their pockets, with non-executive chairman Simon Laffin buying 1.03m shares and chief executive Graham Roberts doubling his stake with the purchase of 1.6m shares.
