Cinema chain Cineworld (CINE) said profits for the financial year ended 1 January 2015 will be "towards the top end" of current market forecasts. The UK & Ireland business has outperformed the wider market, with box office revenues increasing by 0.1 per cent. Admissions fell 3.7 per cent last year, but a 4 per cent hike in ticket prices offset this.

By contrast, admissions in central and Eastern Europe, together with the business in Israel, rose by a collective 4 per cent. The group did particularly well in Poland where admissions increased nearly 7 per cent.
