Hayward Tyler triumphs in Asia

The pump and motor manufacturer announces two contract wins, healthy trading and expansion in China.

Asia was the central theme of Hayward Tyler’s (HAYT) upbeat fourth-quarter trading statement. The pump and motor manufacturer announced a £600,000 contract to deliver two boiler circulating pumps for a super-critical power plant in northern China, together with news of a new sales office in Shanghai to complement its existing facility in Kunshan.

The group’s power generation unit, meanwhile, was also boosted by an aftermarket order worth over £500,000 from India. Prospects for its other two divisions, too, were said to be promising despite "tightening market conditions".

In spite of a low oil price, the engineer reported that its subsea expertise and extraction technology for offshore wells is the subject of "significant interest" as oil and gas companies seek better efficiency, while in nuclear further opportunities are being explored in the UK new build market.
