Tony Hayward has taken over the chairmanship of Genel Energy - a possible precursor to a sale.
July 15, 2015

Former BP chief Tony Hayward has been appointed as Genel Energy's (GENL) chairman after Rodney Chase tendered his resignation. Murat Ozgul - who heads up Genel's operations in Kurdistan - will take on Mr Hayward's role as chief executive. The move has ruffled some feathers due to Mr Hayward's existing chairmanship of FTSE 100 resource giant Glencore (GLEN).

Mr Ozgul will initially be charged with reining in costs, as the oil producer waits on nearly $400m in delayed oil sales payments from the Kurdistan Regional Government.
