A year on and the China Caixin manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) marked its fastest rate of improvement in nearly four years. In December, the Caixin PMI reading came in at 51.9, up from November's 50.9. It has now been above the 50-point neutral level which separates expansion in activity from contraction for six straight months. However, worries persist over the stability of the country’s domestic loans market and possible trade tariffs in the wake of President-elect’s Trump’s accession.
