The company results season has kicked in with a vengeance - all our latest analysis can be found on the Shares page with the banks dominating the past week as Lloyds, HSBC, Barclays and RBS all reported. For a wider discussion on the results season tune in to our weekly IC Companies & Markets podcast with companies editor Ian Smith.

Meanwhile, stock picker Simon Thompson produced two columns this week, firstly looking at three Aim-traded companies and secondly examining shareholder activism at two companies he follows. Elsewhere amongst our commentators, Mr Bearbull and Taking Stock both addressed questions raised by Kraft Heinz’s aborted bid for Unilever while Chris Dillow looked at the housing market. Algy Hall’s stock screen this week revisited his highly successful Greenblatt Magic Formula stock screening criteria which has trounced the market over recent years.
