Regular website users will know that it's always been possible to browse to articles by sector, using the companies by sector page. Now you can browse company data in the same way - and do so via index as well.
We've recently added a 'constituents' tab to the sub-navigation for each index and sector page, so you can see all the constituents of, say, the utilities sector or the techMark index. You can re-order the constituents by clicking on the column headings, giving you an instant snapshot of the cheapest shares, or the best recent performers.
Unique to the IC site is the IC view column, which shows you the latest IC view on that company - and allows you to click back to the article in question. Because this functionality only launched recently, not all the IC view fields are populated, but the number that are will rise every day as we publish more articles. The box below provides links to pages showing the constituents of the main UK investment indices. The pages will open in a new window or tab.
If you've always wondered which companies were in which sectors, look no further - our statistics editor has compiled the definitive list! Click here to view it.
To see companies sorted by industry and stock market sector, see the table below. We use the ICB (Industry Classification Benchmark) system devised by FTSE and Dow Jones, which may differ from those used in other media. For more on the ICB system, see the ICB website.
Also, if you find this kind of feature useful, please tell me so using the comment facility at the foot of this article! Your feedback will help inform further site development.
