Lots has been made about the price of the so-called defensive consumer staples stocks as investors debate whether they're worth coughing up for. But it looks like the chief financial officer of cleaning goods giant Reckitt Benckiser (RB.) Adrian Hennah is convinced that there's a buying opportunity after ploughing more than £646,000 into the company's shares.

He snapped up nearly 9,000 shares at £72.18 in a transaction that suggests his confidence in the group's ability to navigate future inflation more deftly than its rival Unilever (ULVR) did with major retailer Tesco (TSCO) - an incident now widely referred to as "Marmite-gate". The purchase is of a similar size to one Mr Hennah made in December 2015.
