Co-founder and chief executive of Inland Homes (INL), Stephen Wicks, sold 1m shares at 83.6p just before Christmas. This follows an earlier disposal in November, when he unloaded 1.5m shares at 67.3p. There was no explanation accompanying the sales, although it's worth pointing out that the shares have risen 30 per cent since late November, while Mr Wicks still has an interest in 13.7m shares; that's around 6.7 per cent of the issued share capital.
As well as bringing land through the planning process to sell on to housebuilders, Inland also builds houses itself. And with changes in stamp duty favouring houses worth less than £1m, Inland, with houses in the £200,000-£400,000 range, could benefit from an increase in sales volumes.
It's also worth noting that Inland does not revalue its land bank, which currently stands at over 5,000 plots, and with the first adjusted net asset value set to accompany interim results due in late March, analysts at Stifel reckon that NAV per share could be around 93p for the year to June 2016, rising to 107p the following year.
