Indro Mukerjee has his work cut out to revitalise Watchstone (WTG) - the assortment of businesses left after Quindell sold its professional services division. In a show of confidence, he and finance director Mark Williams have shelled out about £99,000 each to take stakes in the reborn group.

The pair were joined by senior director Lord Howard of Lympne, who invested about £25,000. Moreover, non-executive chairman Richard Rose splurged about £258,000 on Watchstone shares a few days later. Another positive was hedge fund Sand Grove Capital raising its stake to over 5 per cent, although that was tempered by Deutsche Bank reducing its holding to below 5 per cent.
