It's never a profit until you take it, and Workspace's (WKP) chief financial officer, Graham Clemett, has done just that, selling 60,000 shares at 945p. A connected party, Julia Clemett, also chipped in by unloading 10,000 shares at the same price. We don't know how long the Clemetts have held the shares, but we do know that the share price has risen by nearly 60 per cent since last October. Mr Clemett still owns just over 101,000 shares in the company.
And Workspace continues to deliver the goods. Demand for office space for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in London has really taken off, as have property values. In fact, through a combination of acquisitions and valuation uplifts, Workspace's net asset value has doubled in the past two years. Trading in the first quarter of this year shows no sign of this trend slowing down. In that time, total rent roll rose by nearly 9 per cent to £75.6m, and like-for-like rental rates grew by 6.1 per cent; that's up nearly 18 per cent over the year from June 2014.
