Since their May IPO, shares in Saga (SAGA) have been lingering below their admission price of 185p. So it should come as some reassurance to investors, many of whom are customers of the over-50s insurance and travel specialist, that the company's top bosses have been topping up their holdings.

Chairman Andrew Goodsell acquired 79,712 shares at 176p apiece on 11 July, costing roughly £140,000, and a further 33,288 shares on 14 July for about £59,000. Meanwhile, finance director Stuart Howard snapped up 54,054 shares on 11 July for a total of £95,675. Mr Goodsell and Mr Howard bought the shares just as Saga announced it would be reporting its half-year results on 30 September. Perhaps they are expecting good news.
