Following the online grocer's results at the end of June, when news of another major contract failed to materialise, Ocado 's (OCDO) chief financial officer is doing his best to shore up confidence in the company's future. Duncan Tatton-Brown spent more than £225,000 on 100,000 shares, taking his total stake in the group to 624,604 shares.

The company finds itself under ongoing pressure to sign another licensing and supply agreement much like the ones it currently operates with Waitrose and supermarket Wm Morrison (MRW). The latter recently signed a separate agreement with Amazon (US:AMZ) as the US behemoth plans to commence food delivery services in the UK. That has given rise to concerns about the state of its existing deal with Ocado.
Brokerage Numis expects pre-tax profits of £9.5m for the year ending November 2016, giving EPS of 1.2p, compared with £11.9m and 2.0p in FY2015.
