LVMH reports record figures

Despite a rocky retail environment, the luxury brand owner has reported record 2016 results

LVMH (MC.) - owner of luxury brands including Louis Vuitton and Moet & Chandon - has reported revenue of €37.6bn (£32.1bn) for 2016, an increase of 5 per cent over the previous year. Organic revenue growth was 6 per cent.

The American market remains on a good track as do Europe and Asia, excluding Japan. At the product level, wine and spirits and fashion and leather goods were the star performers, generating 10 per cent revenue growth each. Overall, the group share of net profit rose by 11 per cent.
