Given the meteoric rise in fast-fashion retailer Boohoo.com (BOO) in recent years, one could hardly blame joint chief executive Mahmud Kamani for looking to bank some of his profits. Mr Kamani sold more than 11.3m shares last week, at a value of £24.8m.

He was, no doubt, pushing on an open door in terms of institutional investor demand. The online retailer had already completed an accelerated book-build placing to raise money for its expansion. As part of this, Mr Kamani, along with his siblings Rabia Kamani and Nurez Kamani, conditionally agreed to sell 36.6m ordinary shares at the placing price and agreed to a six-month lock-in of their remaining shares, followed by a six-month 'orderly market' period (all sales need to go via the house broker). The group also raised £50m with the placing of 22.7m new shares.
The proceeds from the book-build are to be used to grow the group's warehouse capacity, funding the capital expenditure requirements during the construction of a 600,000 sq ft super site, which will boost net sales capacity by over £2bn.
