Asos grew its active customer base by 11 per cent to 9.7m in the four months to the end of June. Robust trading across the UK, US and EU drove constant-currency revenues up a fifth to £947m in the 10 months to June. Moreover, management expected in July that improved inventory control and reduced discounting would keep gross margins healthy.

Broker Peel Hunt forecasts pre-tax profits of £41.2m this financial year, giving EPS of 37.6p, jumping to £51.6m and 49p in the year to August 2016 (£46.9m and 44p in FY2014).
