Ocado sales reliant on Morrisons

Excluding its contract with supermarket chain Morrisons, Ocado's first-quarter sales fell short of analysts' expectations

Hot on the heels of our recent sell advice, online grocery group Ocado (OCDO) reported what looked like a good set of quarterly results. Group sales rose 15.3 per cent to £312m, but if you exclude the Morrisons contract, sales rose 13.8 per cent to £287m - which actually fell short of some City analysts' forecasts. According to analysts at Shore Capital, this demonstrated a slower trading momentum, which was first flagged during the final quarter of the previous financial year.
