Domino's Pizza UK's US parent company celebrated its 50th birthday this week, marking the occasion by ringing the closing bell on the New York Stock Exchange.

It's seems an appropriate reward for a company that's seen its shares double this year on the back of record sales figures. And the success is being replicated around the world, not least in the UK offshoot, itself 25 years old this year. At the nine-month mark in September, its like-for-like sales had climbed 12.5 per cent, and huge increases in volumes had seen profits jump sharply.
