The two Roberts: Robert Peston, BBC business editor and former IC reporter, reminisces with Robert Ansted, the IC's longest serving employee having clocked up 36 years. He remembers when Peston started on the IC in 1983!

Robert Peston shares a joke with the IC's associate editor Claer Barrett and editor Jonathan Eley.

A meeting of minds: two former IC writers who are now FT columnists (John Plender, left, and Lucy Kellaway, right) chat to former IC editor Andreas Whittam-Smith, the man who went on to found the Independent newspaper.

IC editor Jonathan Eley makes a speech to the 150th party guests, remarking that little changes in the world of financial journalism. In the IC's first issue in 1860, the top three stories were about burdensome government debt, a run on a bank and a financial crisis in Turkey.
