After a decent start to 2014, polythene film manufacturer BPI (BPI) expects a "satisfactory" year. But it still has some work to do. Bad weather held up demand for agricultural films and volumes were flat year-on-year, but those delayed orders will have to be filled, so expect a pick-up as the year progresses.
BPI's share price, however, has already picked up. In fact, it touched a seven-week high, which tempted Andrew Green, who runs BPI's recycled products business, to offload £135,000 of shares at 665p. The price has come off slightly since, perhaps frustrating for non-executive director Ron Marsh, who has just paid 669p a share for a stake that's worth £234,000. He's currently down £8,000. BPI's share price behaved similarly in the aftermath of full-year results in March. Then, bosses sold almost £300,000-worth of shares at 660p each before a slide towards historic technical support at 600p.
