TD Direct Investing buys NatWest Stockbrokers

149,000 customers have to decide whether to move to TD Direct Investing or another broker.
July 10, 2014

The 149,000 customers of NatWest Stockbrokers are transferring to TD Direct Investing, in a deal that allows NatWest to focus on its day-to-day banking service.

The acquisition of Natwest Stockbrokers follows a 12-year partnership in which TD Direct Investing provided stockbroking and investment services to NatWest and RBS customers.

TD Direct Investing says that if Natwest Stockbrokers consent to transfer their accounts then their account details, login and passwords will remain the same. Also, their rates and charges will be the same or lower and they will benefit from a wider range of investing tools and services.

If customers decide they don't wish to transfer to TD Direct Investing, they can transfer their investments to another provider at no charge. However, they would need to open an account with another provider first and then send TD Direct Investing a transfer request.
