Company executives can be loath to surrender control. But Matomy Media 's (MTMY) chairman and chief executive, who have sold 8m and 2.5m shares, respectively, in the Israeli digital advertising group, won't be overly distraught - they've gained the backing of French media giant Publicis (Fr: PUB) in the process.

Ilan Shiloah sold 37 per cent of his shares while Matomy chief Ofer Druker parted with 43 per cent of his holdings, both at 227p a share. Publicis will buy up their shares as it builds a 20 per cent stake in Matomy - which listed on London's main market in July - with an option to buy a further 4.9 per cent stake.
Matomy's performance-based marketing focus has paid off. Headline first-half sales rose a fifth while operating profit leapt two-thirds to $10.2m (£6.4m). Those gains reflected strong demand for multi-channel advertising, with mobile activity more than doubling to $11.3m.
Broker Canaccord Genuity expects full-year pre-tax profit of $18.2m, giving EPS of 20¢, rising to $31.8m and 30¢ in 2015.
