The Investors Chronicle Top 50 ETFs was launched in 2014 as an industry first and the only list of its kind. Exchange traded funds (ETFs) are passive funds that are traded on the stock market and they are growing in popularity among self-directed investors.
This year's selection includes 29 new products, which reflects the increased competition on charges and innovation within the industry. You can view the full list here.
For the large, main indices we've seen an intensification of the price war between providers so some of these are even cheaper than last year. This has been coupled with new and existing providers continuing to innovate and introducing a number of new ETFs, sometimes referred to as smart-beta products.
