Unlisted bookie Betfred has chosen online gambling business GVC (GVC) to drive its presence on the internet.

The 10-year agreement will see Betfred’s online business powered by GVC's platform on an exclusive basis. The deal shows the management team at GVC clearly has ambition given it is still integrating recent purchase Bwin Party. It also shows the growing importance of having a strong internet presence - Betfred is largely known for its circa 1,400-strong retail estate.
GVC also said last week average group pro forma revenues per day in Q2 were 11 per cent higher than the corresponding period, or 15 per cent up on a constant currency basis.
