Kier bags £5bn in new work

The infrastructure group has signed three long-term deals

Shares in Kier (KIE) received a 5 per cent boost after the construction group announced it had been awarded three frameworks, worth a total of £5bn for work lasting four years. These include a £4bn deal with the Department of Health as one of six key supply chain partners, beginning in October.

The construction group also won a place on the two-year £500m Cambridge University framework constructing facilities including laboratories, lecture spaces and sports facilities. In addition to its recent contract with Glasgow airport, Kier will also work on building and civil engineering projects for Gatwick airport, worth up to £750m.
