Keywords powers up after Synthesis deal

The video games services group has upgraded its forecasts following a next-level acquisition
November 9, 2016

Synthesis, an audio and localisation business acquired by Keywords Studios (KWS) in April, has delivered just what its name promised. Its outperformance leaves the video games services group on track to comfortably beat market forecasts: it expects adjusted pre-tax profits to rise three-quarters to at least €14m (£12.5m).

Synthesis benefited from large projects and plenty of second-half work with video game studios. Keywords was also buoyed by brisk demand for audio, testing, art and other technical services, and its four acquisitions this year have met management's expectations. Broker FinnCap hiked its forecasts and now expects adjusted pre-tax profits of €14.2m and EPS of 18.9¢ in 2016, up from €7.9m and 11.1¢ in 2015.
