What is included in an Alpha subscription?

An Alpha subscription is an additional level of subscription that Digital or Print + Digital subscribers can upgrade to. Alpha subscribers get access to all areas of the website including all Alpha content.

Is there a print element to the product?

While some Alpha content may be reproduced in your weekly Investors Chronicle magazine in a shortened format, the vast majority of Alpha content will be digital-only and will be delivered via a brand new Alpha section of the Investors Chronicle website. All articles will be available for readers in PDF format to allow for them to be downloaded, saved and read at your convenience.

Can I just take an Alpha subscription?

Existing Digital and Print + Digital subscribers can upgrade to Alpha by visiting the 'My Subscription' page within the 'My Account' tab on the homepage. Non-subscribers can purchase an IC Alpha subscription by clicking on the 'Subscribe' tab on the homepage. At present, print subscribers will need to call our customer services team on 01858 438808 to upgrade their subscription to Alpha.

How often will I receive Alpha content?

Alpha is designed as a deep-dive level of content to enhance your investment knowledge so subscribers will not be bombarded with content. Each week we will update several of our Alpha stock screens and provide additional commentary on them and over the course of a month subscribers will also receive one analyst-style research note on a company from Simon Thompson, an overview of investment trust valuations and updates on the world’s cheapest markets through regularly updated market valuation models and how different investment styles are performing. Ten times a year subscribers will receive broker-style sector reports on different key sectors of the UK stock market and every quarter we will produce asset allocation reviews to help subscribers consider how to adjust their exposure.

Each week Alpha subscribers will receive an email highlighting the latest content produced by our Alpha team to ensure you never miss new content.

What will it cost?

An Alpha subscription will be an additional £120 a year on top of the existing IC subscription cost, the equivalent of £10 a month.

How long does the trial period last?

We want to give IC subscribers as much opportunity as possible to discover the Alpha content before deciding whether to subscribe. Initially we will be making IC Alpha content available to all Investors Chronicle Digital and Print + Digital subscribers for a period of 8 weeks from 5 March 2018. During this period subscribers will be able to see examples of the sort of content they would receive with an IC Alpha subscription and also to sign up to the IC Alpha weekly email.

What happens at the end of the trial period?

At the end of the 8 week free access period, new Alpha content will only be available to subscribers who choose to upgrade to the Alpha subscription. You will be contacted during the period of the trial to ascertain your interest in upgrading your subscription. From 12 February subscribers can sign up to receive the Alpha weekly email with no obligation.
