Historically, momentum has been an immensely powerful return factor for the UK stock market but investors demonstrating loss aversion can sometimes get out of winning stocks too soon. Our screens look at earnings growth as well as share price momentum, so hopefully can provide more reassurance that the companies doing well can continue to do so.
There was lively debate when one of our writers put AB Dynamics (ABDP) on a sell, with several colleagues arguing the case for running profits. Some of the comments made were of the emasculating variety, however the guidance provided by our screens here might make it easier to be a more ballsy investor in future.
- Easyjet (EZJ) no longer passes all eight of our FTSE All Share momentum screen criteria. The other two companies from last month to score 8/8 remain. Niche healthcare PR company, Huntsworth (HNT) and gambling specialist GVC Holdings (GVC) still have wind in their sails.
- The FTSE All Small companies index has some duplication with the All Share index and Huntsworth is highlighted again with a perfect score in our small cap screen. It is joined by SpeedyHire (SDY) which is continuing to attract investor attention
- Our Aim screen sees no change at the top with drinks manufacturer Fevertree (FEVR) still on a tear and AB Dynamics still exciting investors.
