Aim-traded Amino Technologies (AMO:210p), the Cambridge-based provider of digital entertainment solutions for internet protocol (IP) TV, internet TV and in-home multimedia distribution, has announced a double whammy of contract wins in the past week, news of which has helped the shares rally 10 per cent or so since I upgraded my stance and rated them an outright buy five weeks ago at 190p ('High-yielding opportunities', 8 Aug 2017).

At the end of last week, the company won a contract with Finland-based operator DNA for both mobile and set-top box service delivery of its multi-screen TV. Having worked with DNA for the past seven years on building its TV service, DNA is now expanding its offering by deploying Amino's MOVE cloud TV platform to support its recent launch of TV-hubi - its new Android TV 4K UHD device. This provides its customers with access to a range of services including all Finnish channels and a wide range of PayTV content, video on demand and Network PVR. The upshot is that DNA is now able to sell its pay TV services across the country either through cable, terrestrial or IPTV.

And that’s not the only significant deal Amino has been awarded as the company has just been chosen by Deutsche Glasfaser, the largest provider of fibre-to-the-home networks in Germany, to support the second phase roll-out of its next-generation TV platform. Following an initial launch of the platform in 2014, Deutsche Glasfaser has selected Amino to complement its existing platform, which is deployed as part of its triple-play bundle offering, and also as a white-labelled offering to wholesale customers, including ISPs and cable operators.
