Market Outlook: Record US goods trade deficit

Yesterday afternoon the United States published data showing the trade deficit in good boomed to $77.25 billion in the month of October, the biggest gap on record. This from about $60 billion at the beginning of 2017 when President Trump started work and $10 billion in the early 1990’s. Part of the problem is the trade war with China, soybean exports blocked by tariffs and the Chinese not importing one drop of American energy products since August. In the same month, the number of new homes sold dropped to 554,000, one of the lowest in 30 months.
