Meanwhile, back to the results season. It takes a seriously strong performance to maintain the sort of share price performance enjoyed by Fevertree Drinks over recent times. And this week it fell a little flat as results at the fast growing soft drinks maker merely came in line with expectations, heightened though they were. Still a near doubling of sales in its core UK market is surely not sustainable, hence why management are looking to North America for the next leg up.
Making hay while the sun shines on the gold price has long been the strategy of pawnbrokers. But H&T has attempted to beat the cyclical nature of its gold exposure by diversifying its business. And results this week suggest it is having considerable success.
