Directors have sold a number of shares in waste management company Biffa (BIFF). Finance director Michael Topham and his wife Victoria have made three disposals, totalling 226,951 shares for close to £572,000, while chief executive Ian Wakelin also made two sales totalling 766,558 shares for around £1.93m.
The company listed in October 2016 at 180p, rising since then to 240p a share. Recent results were impressive, revealing a reduction in customer churn, better pricing discipline in the industrial and commercial division – its largest in terms of revenue and profits – and improved adjusted cash profits of £76.3m.
These share disposals mark the first slew of director sales since the IPO. Alongside Mr Topham and Mr Wakelin, the managing director of the resource, recovery and treatment division and the wife of the industrial and commercial division’s managing director also offloaded shares.
