When you are approaching your target retirement age hopefully your asset allocation strategy, combined with regular contributions compounding away, has done its work to build up your pot.
Within five to two years of your target retirement, it is probably no longer sensible to take the high risk in our Sipp accumulation asset allocation. But a good trade-off as you approach what we are calling the ‘retirement landing zone’ could be one of our lower-risk zone asset allocation models.
