Good news for Baillie Gifford investors this week, as the fund house prepares to cut management fees on a number of its funds including top performing Baillie Gifford Japanese (GB0006011133). It follows hot on the heels of Baillie Gifford’s decision to introduce tiered fees for other successful funds earlier in the year.

Gold glittered in August’s markets. Investors flocked to the perceived safe assets amid escalating tensions surrounding North Korea’s nuclear ambitions. August is supposed to be a sleepy month for markets but this one was more surreal – by the end of the month safe haven assets had performed well but so had emerging markets and Asia stocks.

This week’s tip is a rare opportunity to buy this high yielding portfolio of lower risk assets at a narrow premium. Get in while you can for uncorrelated returns, inflation-linked income and capital growth – its  share price certainly won’t stay this low forever.
