Goodwin’s refractory business offers hope

The growth in refractory is offsetting the shrinking mechanical engineering business.

Goodwin's (GDWN) sales mix continues to change. Revenue from the industrial products group's mechanical engineering business fell in the six months to October, dropping five per cent to £49.7m. However, this was more than offset by the growth of the refractory business which grew 43 per cent to £34.4m.
