London Stock Exchange’s (LSE) merger with Deutsche Börse (De:DB1) may have fallen through, but it’s still all change at the top. Chief executive Xavier Rolet will have spent a decade at the indices and information services provider by the time be leaves in December next year, and to that end has already started selling down part of his stake, disposing of shares worth £7.7m.

Under his tenure, the LSE’s market capitalisation has grown from £800m to almost £14bn, with the information and post-trade services businesses becoming an increasingly important part of the growth strategy. Revenue at global clearing business LCH was up 17 per cent year on year during the first half, while its primary capital markets division continued to grow at a slower rate, with sales increasing just 5 per cent during the same period.
