Hargreaves not quite as special

The self-investment giant's increasing scale means it may have to scale back special dividends in future

Hargreaves Lansdown (HL.) had already flagged the lack of a special dividend for the 2017 financial year, but newly installed chief executive Chris Hill tried to reassure investors of its commitment to redistributing excess capital to shareholders in future. However, with the self-investment giant growing assets apace, special dividends may not be as high as those enjoyed in the past, Mr Hill says.
