Just two days after the group posted an impressive set of annual results, chairman of Eco Animal Health (ECO) Peter Lawrence has sold 2m shares, netting himself more than £12m in the process. That’s impressive given the stock – now at 640p – is trading at a five-year high and demanding close to 40 times forecast earnings from buyers.

Regardless, it seems people want a piece of the action. The continued rollout of the group’s flagship drug, Aivlosin, into new markets is paying off, sending revenues up by 30 per cent and pre-tax profits up by a whopping 75 per cent. The drug is aimed at reducing the level of antibiotics routinely used across pig and poultry breeds.
Analysts at N+1 Singer expect adjusted pre-tax profit of £14m for the 12 months to March 2018, giving EPS of 16.4p (from £13.8m and 16.2p in 2017).
