Stobart executive director sells to fund new venture

In June, Andrew Tinkler stepped down from his role as chief executive Stobart Group (STOB) to set up a new entity called Stobart Capital. The “value creation unit” looks for investment opportunities, which should free up members of the energy, aviation, rail and infrastructure teams to focus on their existing business rather than searching for new opportunities. Although they share a name, Stobart Group and Stobart Capital operate independently from one another. Stobart Group has the option to invest in projects identified by the latter, as do other outside investors.
