Frontier prepares for game launch

According to management at video game specialist Frontier Developments (FDEV), the launch of a new title often costs more in marketing than it does in development. That’s why – with Frontier’s third gaming franchise, Jurassic World, set to hit the shelves this summer – analysts are forecasting annual gross profit margins of 65 per cent, down from the 69 per cent recorded in the first half. Broker FinnCap has therefore forecast a fall in pre-tax profits and EPS to £1.3m and 3.2p, respectively, from £9.8m and 28.3p in the year to May 2017.
