Algy Hall’s Stock Screen column this week he returns to his Genuine Value criteria for selecting small cap stocks. This year Algy has tightened up the criteria a little to reduce the number of companies which come a cropper during the year while still capturing the strong outperformance of the top picks. In the resources space, two significant pieces of news today as Glencore has spotted a potential sanctions loophole which may help it continue to operate unimpeded in DR Congo while further east, Russia-focused gold miner Petropavlovsk is facing a challenge to its board for the second year running at its upcoming AGM.
