Draper Esprit (GROW) may only have existed – and been listed on the Alternative Investment Market (Aim) – for two years, it is already popular with investors. The shares have risen more than half in the past 12 months and two members of management have decided to bank some of those gains. Chief executive Simon Cook and chief operating officer Stuart Chapman have each sold £2.4m in shares.

The venture capital group invests in technology companies, and holdings include insure-tech business PremFina, and Verve, a platform for word-of-mouth sales software. Investments last year also included £18m in Paris-based crypto-currency and blockchain security company Ledger. The gross value of its portfolio more than doubled during the year to March and even excluding new investments and realisations, it was up two-thirds. What’s more, a £115m placing in May has significantly strengthened the cash coffers.
