Big Yellow occupancy growth stalls

Potential customers of the self-storage group have been more hesitant to sign-up

Big Yellow (BYG) recorded just 0.3 per cent growth in like-for-like occupancy during its first half, against a heightened level of consumer and business uncertainty. The self storage specialist continued to experience hesitancy among potential customers, resulting in a 4 per cent reduction in move-ins, although management expects a return to growth during the “seasonally stronger” final March-end quarter.
