Bango goes bang on Amazon Prime deal

Bango's shares jump on Amazon Prime tie up
June 27, 2018

Shares in Bango (BGO) rose nearly a tenth on news that the mobile payments business is enabling direct carrier billing for Amazon in the UK. This means that customers of a “leading mobile operator” in the UK can now sign up for Amazon Prime Video, as part of their mobile plan. As with other direct carrier billing initiatives, the respective customers will be charged for this service within their mobile bills.

This update comes after Bango’s launch with Amazon in India for the country’s dominant mobile network operator, Bharti Airtel. Beyond Amazon, the company also announced on 13 June that millions of subscribers to mobile operator Entel in Chile can use their mobile bills to pay for content and services sold via the Google Play app store.
